HOT CHOCOLATE the Park with Friends of Shelby – November 17, 2024

November 17 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

This is a SPECIAL EVENT to encourage multigenerational bike riding, get to meet other bike riders in the area, and enjoy some tasty warm beverages (presuming the weather is cool enough!). We’ll have hot chocolate and cookies to share.

TAKE OUR PARTICIPANT SURVEY & let us know how many folks you’re bringing if you can!

Ride schedule & details

You can show up starting at 1:30/1:45pm for a bike inspection and hang out. We’ll provide a safety overview and inflate tires. We will roll out at 2:15pm.

THIS EDITION OF THE PEDAL THE PARK RIDE WILL BEGIN AT CORNELIA FORT AIRPARK ON SHADOW LANE.

We will roll as a large all-ages group, then adults/older youth riders will split off for a guided ride on the back end of the greenway. Games are possible for the younger kids at the park entrance!

Has it been a while since you last biked? Want to join but haven’t got your own bike? A limited number of bikes are available for us to bring – drop us a line at least 48 hours in advance so we can bring a bike that fits your needs. Bikes are FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. Call or text Bike Fun at 615-763-3788 or email kj@nashvillebikefun.org

Rides are weather pending. Check here for updates.

Ride requirements & requests

If you feel sick, stay home!

We ride as a group to support new and returning bicycle riders – no rider left behind. If you are a more experienced bike rider, you are welcome to come and help other riders build their riding confidence and skills!

Adhere to all greenway trail etiquette (ride on right, signal when passing, stay under 15MPH, slow down around walkers).

There is no charge for this ride, but donations to Bike Fun or Friends of Shelby are gratefully accepted.

Outdoor events are weather pending – for events requiring registration, participants will be notified about cancellations via text or email. For non-registration events, please contact us or keep an eye on our social media platforms for up-to-date information.
