2025 Bike Fun Impact Report – Financials

DONATIONS – either financial or in-kind – are what power our bicycle joy creating engine. Without enthusiastic unrestricted financial support, we can’t continue to offer classes & events for free or reduced cost while still paying our instructor corps.

And without dusty not rusty donations of bicycles & gear, we can’t refurbish new rides for new students.

Bike Fun took steps in 2023 to begin diversifying our REVENUE streams – specifically, providing service for hire like ride organizing and event support.

From the beginning of the Nashville Bicycle Festival, Bike Fun has received grant support from the Inglewood Neighborhood Association to produce the event – & in 2025, we offered organizations the chance to sponsor the festival. Overages from operational costs were used to provide a FREE learn to ride a bike camp for South Inglewood Community Center campers.

At the end of 2025, Bike Fun was awarded an REI Cooperative Action Fund grant for 2026-2027 ($10,000 each year, slightly lower than their first granting years) which we will use to cover most of our base operating costs & set aside funds to support instructor-led activities, different to what we already offer.

And – though this is outside of the 2025 report scope – a few months ago we were awarded the Jeff Roth Cycling Foundation Challenge Grant in support of the All Ages Learn to Ride programming for 2026.

Bike Fun has applied for a handful of other grants, in some cases multiple times – unfortunately, none of the applications have piqued interest from the grantors or foundations. (Out there in our supporter corps & want to help us with applying? Contact us www.nashvillebikefun.org/support!)

Strategic goals impacted:

1. Expand educational programming

4. Continue developing sustainable operations

5. Scale community impact
