Pizza Party!!!
October 2, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 2:30 pm
Declare your love for pizza on this fun group ride!
Pizza Party!!! bike ride will roll for a raucous celebration of all things pizza. We will be meeting at 10:30am at the James Robertson statue at Centennial Park to roll over to Shelby Park to the pedestrian bridge over the Cumberland, then back to a green space near Vanderbilt to eat delicious pies provided by Bike Fun. (We’ll place the pizza order before we roll back.) WE ROLL AT 10:45am.
Get ready for an approximately 15 mile round-trip ride before noshing on some pizza. We will roll back over to Centennial Park after eating where riders can enjoy the Celebrate Nashville cultural festival happening on the same day.
Pies will be provided; bring a beverage or buy one near the eat spot.
This is a NO DROP ride for all kinds of riders; do note that there may be hills along the way. Estimated time to complete the ride will be about 2 hours at the longest. (If you need a snack before eating pizza BRING ONE!)
This is a casual, social ride – riders of all levels are welcome; however, please be aware there will be hills on the route.
Pandemic protocols
Masks are optional for this ride; however, they are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED for folks who are unvaccinated against COVID-19; if we find ourselves in crowded spaces, masks are encouraged for folks regardless of vaccination status. At the eat stop we’ll be able to spread out. There will be hand sanitizer to be used prior to eating (no bathroom or water fountain at the stop, but there are nearby stores/locations to use the bathroom if needed).
Proposed route
Starting from the James Robertson Statue at Centennial Park, going out via Elliston/Church, cutting over to Demonbreun and catching the pedestrian bridge over to Davidson St. Rolling into Shelby Bottoms park, out to the pedestrian bridge over the Cumberland. Going back down to Davidson and across the pedestrian bridge, heading up Demonbreun towards Midtown/Vanderbilt area, up 19th Ave to our green space stop and PIZZA. Then a short ride back to the start.
We will meet here!
What about the weather?
If it is torrentially downpouring or otherwise severe weather, the ride will be cancelled. Slight drizzle will not stop this roll. Check the Bike Fun Twitter feed the night before the ride for a final decision.
