CANCELLED Nashville Area Women/FTW Only Ride – May 6, 2021
May 6, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:45 pm
Out of an abundance of caution – and three weather sites that cite rain/thunderstorms from 6-8p tonight – I am CANCELLING this ride. Let’s hope for better riding days ahead! Thanks!
This ride will center returning and new riders who hope to gain confidence and knowledge about riding a bike. Rides will be between 6-10 miles. No rider left behind. We will traverse streets and greenways.
We will have a short (10 minute) maintenance demo at the beginning of the ride covering various topics like tire inflation, fixing a dropped chain, lubricating a drivetrain, and more. (Only one topic covered per ride!)
If necessary, we will divide up into groups of no more than FIVE riders, with a ride leader for each group and a sweep at the end. Masks are encouraged and highly recommended for non-vaccinated riders; for fully vaccinated riders, masks can be optional. *
Start locations will vary; hopefully we’ll have enough interest to do a Tuesday ride every 2 weeks and a Thursday ride every 2 weeks.
In case of inclement weather, the ride will be cancelled.
There is no charge for this ride, but donations to Bike Fun – a non-profit organization based in Nashville – are welcomed. See https://venmo.com/Bike-Fun or https://www.patreon.com/bikefun for opportunities to donate. Volunteers (ride leaders, maintenance demos) are always welcome!
* CDC guidance on mask use outdoors -especially in mixed vax status groups – suggests much lower transmission rates of COVID occurring outside, with the recommendation that non-fully-vaxxed folks still wear face coverings. Cases are down in Davidson County as of the end of April 2021. If ridership increases for this ride, this policy may be revisited.
