POSTPONED: Bike Fun Bike Lab – March 2020
March 21, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
FreeBike Lab for March will be POSTPONED until further notice. Stay safe out there & keep it rubber side down. I am hoping to reschedule in April!
The Bike Fun Bike Lab is being held once a month in the winter at Trinity Community Commons. Bring your bike and learn more about how to be a thoughtful caregiver for your wonderful freedom machine. Don’t have a bike? I’ll have one you can work on. Drop-in, casual learning environment. Donations accepted.
For the March edition of Bike Fun Bike Lab, we will focus on brakes and braking systems from 9AM-10:30AM – so the drop in at the first part will look at brake pads, cable tension, cable health and strength, and all the things you need to SLOW or STOP your roll!
At these drop-in sessions, we’ll cover common maintenance issues that you may encounter while riding your bike. We’ll also discuss how to care for your bike to keep it running smoothly. Feel free to bring your own bicycle. I’ll have a bike stand and tools.
Common maintenance issues include:
- Cleaning your drivetrain
- Adjusting tension in cables (brakes and shifting)
- Fixing a flat tire
- Patching an inner tube
- General cleaning
- Checking bolts for tightness
- Checking cassette/freewheel and crankset sprockets for wear
Please note – Bike Fun does not provide actual repair services on bicycles but will be able to advise and assist riders in getting their bikes in shape.
Outdoor events are weather pending – for events requiring registration, participants will be notified about cancellations via text or email. For non-registration events, please contact us or keep an eye on our social media platforms for up-to-date information.
