Come join Bike Fun, Friends of Shelby Park, and other community groups at the fourth annual Shelby Recreation Open House on Saturday, March 22. This event will highlight all the fun activities available in Shelby and the wider Parks system.
Bike Fun will be operating the mobile Bike Lab, which will help you get a grounding in keeping your bike roll-ready for the upcoming spring riding season! Bring your bike & learn about tires, brakes, and chains. We will have tools for you to work on your bike – and expert help to guide you along the way.
Don’t miss out on your chance to win fun prizes at the ALL AGES BALANCE BIKE RACE! Sign up at the Bike Fun booth and meet us at 1pm! Bike Fun will have bikes on hand, or bring your own!

Common maintenance issues include:
- Cleaning your drivetrain
- Adjusting tension in cables (brakes and shifting)
- Fixing a flat tire
- Patching an inner tube
- General cleaning
- Checking bolts for tightness
- Checking cassette/freewheel and crankset sprockets for wear
