Private Party Donation Guidelines

Bike Fun is set up to receive new or used bikes in working condition to be refurbished & returned to the community. We also accept bicycle accessories like trailers, on-bike racks, & bells.

On occasion, we can accept bikes not in working condition to be garnished for parts or assessed for repair. Contact us for more info.

Before you give a used bicycle – to us or any organization – ask yourself: will it take more than 30 minutes to assess & fix the issues with this bike?

If you’d still like to proceed with a donation of a heavily used bicycle to us, we request that you contribute an additional MINIMUM of $50 per bicycle.

Bicycles are wonderful, magical machines, but the ones never maintained and sitting in your yard for a year or more are not the ones we can afford to take.

Corporate Teambuilding Donation Guidelines

Are you involved in a corporate teambuilding event that has bicycles as the build object? See below for our acceptance guidelines.

  • If we can choose bikes OR
  • If we receive a minimum $500 stipend THEN
  • we will accept bikes. 

If we cannot choose bikes & do not receive stipend, then no bicycles will be accepted. 

If you are choosing bicycles that fall into the “bicycle shaped object” category and expect a recipient to maintain their bike after donation, the ethical action is for your company to arrange for a sizable credit at a local bike shop for parts and labor.

Haven’t purchased bicycles yet for your teambuilding event? See our suggested list below.

  • Bike should have NO SUSPENSION (front or rear).
  • Preferably, bike should have hand brake(s).

Arranging purchase through bike shop local to Nashville is likely to yield better results than purchasing via online third party retailer. The list below is not canonical and has some good examples of value per bike compared to cost output.
