Bike Fun, a bicycle education non-profit, is seeking to fill up to two director positions for the 2025-2027 term. We will be holding elections in April 2025 and are soliciting contact from interested parties now.
Director positions help with financial oversight of the entity and provide guidance with programming and fundraising. 2025 promises to be a year of continued growth for the non-profit, which has seen many successful projects in 2024 (namely, physical space acquisition, diversified revenue streams, and certification of all instructors as League Cycling Instructors through the League of American Bicyclists).
Directors serve two year terms and are eligible to hold one year term officer positions (president, secretary, treasurer).
Requirements for board service
Board meetings are held at least three times a year, typically by conference call, with occasional business conducted via email. Suggested monthly commitment of 2 hours will vary by month but will rarely go over 5 hours.
We strive to be transparent and inclusive with each other and with our students and supporters.
You do not have to be an active bicycle rider to serve on the board, but you should have an interest in placemaking, built environment, infrastructure development and funding, and mobility equity. People living within the Middle Tennessee area are eligible for election to the board.
Potential candidates should send a letter of interest, CV/resume, and volunteer experience with other organizations to bikefun@nashvillebikefun.org. We will be setting up conversations in February and March, either in person or via phone/video.
Our mission
Bike Fun has a mission to create joyful bicycle riders in Middle Tennessee through workshops, classes, events, group rides, and one-on-one lessons.
