DESCRIPTION:The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure and Bike Fun invite you to join us for a community bike ride exploring changes to the bike network around Midtown. This project has now moved into the 60-90% design phase and we need your help to finalize details! \nThe Athena Bikeways project will plan\, design\, and construct multimodal safety and mobility improvements – including high quality\, low stress bikeways – on several streets in Midtown connecting to Centennial Park. \nThe project includes the following streets: \n\n25th Avenue North from Elliston Place to Charlotte Avenue\nPatterson Street from 25th Avenue North to Bar-B-Que Alley\n29th Avenue North from West End Avenue to 31st Avenue North\nAcklen Park Drive from Murphy Road to Long Blvd\nLong Blvd from Acklen Park Drive to 31st Avenue North\nBurch Avenue from 31st Avenue North to 29th Avenue North\n\nYou can see project information here. \nBike Fun can provide up to 10 bikes for riders who need one. RSVPs are helpful but not required if you have your own bicycle. If you need a bicycle\, you must RSVP so we can bring an appropriately sized bicycle for you. \nWe are meeting at the Oasis Bike Workshop parking lot to roll out by 10:15AM. SUMMARY:Women and Wheels: Bicycle Maintenance
DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with Walk Bike Nashville\, the Oasis Center\, and Halcyon Bike Shop\, Bike Fun is hosting a FREE bicycle maintenance skills workshop for women and women-identified folks! We welcome all women and women-identified folks to come and learn some bicycle maintenance skills. \nAt this workshop\, we’ll cover common maintenance issues that you may encounter while riding your bike. We’ll also discuss how to care for your bike to keep it running smoothly. Feel free to bring your own bicycle\, or we’ll also have stations set up to cover a variety of maintenance topics. \nPlease register so we know how many women to expect. Snacks will also be provided! \nUnfortunately we cannot provide childcare for this class\, though we hope to be able to in the future.
