DESCRIPTION:Poetry is in the streets\nOpen Streets Nashville temporarily closes streets to cars\, encouraging community connection\, physical activity\, and support for local businesses. This initiative inspires new uses for public spaces\, allowing biking\, walking\, dancing\, and more. Neighbors\, businesses\, and organizations can reclaim street space\, creating opportunities for picnics\, art\, and play. The free event transforms streets into park-like settings\, fostering exploration and enjoyment without cars. Originating in Bogotá\, Colombia\, many cities now embrace Open Streets programs\, including Atlanta and Louisville. [text courtesy of the Civic Design Center] \nPaletas\, play houses\, programs and more\nThere will be a Community Zone\, and Arts and Culture Zone\, and an Activity Zone along the route. Tour the nearby Glencliff Elementary gardens\, have a poem written for you\, enjoy a Titans tailgate\, and connect with your neighbors in the streets! \nBring your bike or ride one of ours\nBike Fun will be at Open Streets with a bike skills course + some basic information on learning how to ride. Come celebrate your success with us and other learn to ride students at this special All Bodies Ride! Bring your family\, your friends\, and let’s all ride together. \nWe will have a mini Learn to Ride session before the ride if you need refresher tips. It will last for one hour and is not intended for brand new learners. \nThis slideshow requires JavaScript. \nEvent Details\nOn Sunday\, November 19th\, 2023\, Walk Bike Nashville hosts an All Bodies Ride event. Bring friends\, family\, and loved ones to enjoy a casual bike ride together. \nWalk Bike Nashville and Bike Fun can provide bicycles and helmets for those who need them (some bicycles may need to be shared depending on the number of participants). \nFor riders who may still be working on their handling skills\, we will focus on the airpark track itself.
