SUMMARY:POPSICLE the Park with Friends of Shelby - July 20\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:This is a SPECIAL EVENT to encourage all ages bike riding\, get to meet other bike riders in the area\, and enjoy deliciously cold popsicle treats. (Tell us if you’re coming & RSVP for a bike if needed at our survey here.) All wheels welcomed! \n\nRide schedule & details\n\nMeet up starting at 3:45pm for a bike inspection and hang out. We’ll provide a safety overview and check everyone’s tires. We will roll out at 4:15pm. \nTHIS EDITION OF THE PEDAL THE PARK RIDE WILL BEGIN AT CORNELIA FORT AIRPARK ON SHADOW LANE.  \nWe will roll as a large all-ages group\, then adults/older youth riders will split off for a guided ride on the back end of the greenway\, & younger riders will meet at the airpark entrance for games & more!  \nHas it been a while since you last biked? Want to join but haven’t got your own bike? A limited number of bikes are available for us to bring – drop us a line at least 48 hours in advance so we can bring a bike that fits your needs. We can also help with kids bikes for this ride. Bikes are FIRST COME\, FIRST SERVED. Fill out our participant survey here by Friday\, July 18th!   \n\nRides are weather pending. We will cancel rides in case of heavy rain\, lightning\, or extreme heat (heat index of 95 or higher). Updates will be posted here & will be sent to our email list (survey above provides options to sign up). \nRide requirements & requests\nIf you feel sick\, stay home! \nWe ride as a group to support new and returning bicycle riders – no rider left behind. If you are a more experienced bike rider\, you are welcome to come and help other riders build their riding confidence and skills!\n\nAdhere to all greenway trail etiquette (ride on right\, signal when passing\, stay under 15MPH\, slow down around walkers). \n\n\nThere is no charge for this ride\, but donations to Bike Fun or Friends of Shelby are gratefully accepted.
