SUMMARY:Pedal the Park with Friends of Shelby
DESCRIPTION:Take a ride in the park with Friends of Shelby and Bike Fun! Twice a month\, we’ll cruise around Shelby Park starting from the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center Trailhead for a casual\, no-drop ride\, lasting about an hour. Free\, social bike ride for ages 10+.  \nThis ride supports new and returning bicycle riders for ages 10 and up who want to learn more about bicycle riding in a no-pressure\, encouraging environment. We will learn more about  \n\nthe hows and whys of greenway riding\nbasic bicycle maintenance\nfeatures of Shelby Park and Bottoms\nthe work Friends of Shelby Park does to support the park.\n\nDepending on the number of riders\, we may split up into different pace groups. \n\nRide schedule & details\nMeet at the Nature Center Trailhead – look for the bicycle riders by the trailhead sign. No RSVP required (unless you need a bicycle – see below!)  \n\nMeet up starting at 5pm for a bike inspection and hang out. We’ll provide a safety overview and check everyone’s tires as needed. We will roll out at 5:30pm.  \nYOU MAY WANT TO BRING LIGHTS! \nHas it been a while since you last biked? Want to join but haven’t got your own bike? A limited number of bikes are available for us to bring – drop us a line at least 48 hours in advance so we can provide a bike that fits your needs. Bikes are FIRST COME\, FIRST SERVED. Call or text Bike Fun at 615-763-3788 or email bikefun@nashvillebikefun.org.   \n\nRides are weather pending. We will cancel rides in case of heavy rain\, lightning\, or extreme heat (heat index of 95 or higher). Check the event calendar for updates!\nRide requirements & requests\nIf you feel sick\, stay home! \nWe ride as a group to support new and returning bicycle riders – no rider left behind. If you are a more experienced bike rider\, you are welcome to come and help other riders build their riding confidence and skills!\n\nAdhere to all greenway trail etiquette (ride on right\, signal when passing\, stay under 15MPH\, slow down around walkers). \n\n\nThere is no charge for this ride\, but donations to Bike Fun or Friends of Shelby are gratefully accepted.

SUMMARY:Pumpkin Pedal with Patagonia - October 2025
DESCRIPTION:Riding at night isn’t scary when you’re with friends\nJoin Patagonia and partners: Music City Dope Pedalers\, Bike for Equality\, Walk Bike Nashville\, Bike Fun\, Nashville Connector – NDOT\, Oasis Bike Workshop\, and Rivian Nashville as we cruise around the city in our Halloween Costumes! \nIt will be a no drop 6-mile ride (roughly 45 minutes) starting at Patagonia Nashville through downtown\, past the Capitol\, and into Centennial Park for a photo op\, finishing along the river back to Patagonia. Link to the bike route \nSchedule for the event: \n– Doors: 5:15pm\n– Contest Walk: 5:40pm\n– Ride: 6:00pm \nAlong with the ride\, there will be costume contests* and a hang with snacks and refreshments after the ride.
