DESCRIPTION:Learn loads about tires and wheels at this focused clinic with Bike Fun. \nWant to learn the basics of fix a flat and tire care? \nBike Fun is hosting a Fix a Flat clinic. Bring your wheels or your bike and we’ll break it all down for you! \nRegistration for the class is here. Suggested ticket price is sliding scale between $25-35. Income based scholarships available – contact us for more information! \nWe will be inside working on our bicycles. \nThis course is for anyone 13 and up who wants to learn more about fixing a flat tire – and preventing flats in the first place. \nWe will cover wheel anatomy\, tubes\, tires\, some tubeless\, & selecting PSI. \nAges 13+ – this is not a youth-specific course\, FYI. Bicycle wheels can be provided for those who would like to attend but don’t have their own bicycle yet. SUMMARY:Bike Lab Volunteer Session - February 2025
DESCRIPTION:Help us get some bikes cleaned!\n\nWe’re in need of some cleaning for bikes that have been in a dusty storage situation.\nIf you’ve got basic mechanical skills\, we’ll also be making adjustments either simple single speed kids bikes or (less likely) geared\, hand brake bikes.\nDrop by anytime during the hours of 10am and 1pm. We’ll wrap up by 2pm.\nIf it’s not too cold\, we’ll be in the back parking lot. If it’s cold or raining\, we will be inside the Bike Fun Bike Lab.\nMeet us at Woodbine UMC\, between Nolensville Pike and Grandview Ave.\n\nBike Fun will supply rags\, soap\, water\, degreaser\, etc. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. If there’s interest\, we’ll order some lunch! \nWe’ll be working RAIN OR SHINE with an indoor plan if needed!

DESCRIPTION:Need tools\, parts\, support? We got you.\nCome join us on the second & fourth Tuesdays of the month from February through November at Cosecha Community at Woodbine UMC. We’ll have information on bike riding\, taking care of your bike\, and more. \nIndoor shop space is limited to 3 people at a time for up to one hour. \nIt’s donation-based\nWe’ve got a limited number of spare parts available on a sliding scale basis. If you just need bench space to use tools\, consider making donation to either Bike Fun or Cosecha Community. \nFirst come\, first served\nBasic fix assistance includes fix-a-flat\, bolt safety checks\, and chain cleaning. We will have replacement tubes & tires on a first-come-first-served basis. Come see us and learn how to keep your bike in good riding shape! \n\n¿Necesita herramientas\, piezas o asistencia? Nosotros lo tenemos.\nÚnase a nosotros el segundo y cuarto martes de cada mes en la Comunidad Cosecha en Woodbine UMC. Find out why it’s important to shift gears properly\, what inflation to use for your tires\, how (and why) to clean a chain\, and more. \nWant to keep your bike on the road and out of the shop? Come learn how just a few maintenance tasks will keep your bike going longer. \nBike Fun is hosting a Basic Bicycle Maintenance class. We will cover the basics of home bicycle maintenance\, as well as provide time to answer questions you may have about bicycle maintenance. If you have a bicycle and bring it\, we’ll also fill out your very own Bicycle Information Sheet. \nRegistration for the class is here. Suggested ticket price is sliding scale between $35-45.  \nWe will be inside working on our bicycles. \nThis course is for anyone 13 and up who wants to learn more about taking good care of a bicycle. It will cover the following topics: \n\nHow to fix a flat\nHow to properly inflate your tires\nHow to clean a chain and diagnose chain wear; and\nWhat each part of your bike is.\n\nAges 13+ – this is not a youth-specific course\, FYI.
