DESCRIPTION:You’re Never Too Old to Learn to Ride!\nThis course is for brand new riders who have either only pedaled on training wheels or who have tried without success to ride without training wheels. \nYou must register to attend – fill out this registration form! Class size limited to 5 students. Registration fee is $15-25. Income based scholarships available. \nDo you know an 11 or 12 year old who needs some help getting going on two wheels? Then we have something just for you! \nClass Details\nBike Fun is hosting a 11 & 12 Year Old Learn to Ride event. Get your kid started on their bicycling journey! \nThis course is for 11 and 12 year olds who have never pedaled a bicycle without training wheels. It covers the following topics: \n\nGetting onto the bike\nBasic balance\nStarting and stopping\nPedaling\nTurning\n\nCome learn how to ride in a safe and supportive environment. \nFor our learn to ride classes\, we emphasize exposure\, not expertise. DESCRIPTION:Learn at home caregiving tasks to keep your bicycle in tip top shape. Receive praise from the bike shop for keeping your bike in good order! Find out why it’s important to shift gears properly\, what inflation to use for your tires\, how (and why) to clean a chain\, and more. \nWant to keep your bike on the road and out of the shop? Come learn how just a few maintenance tasks will keep your bike going longer. \nBike Fun is hosting a Basic Bicycle Maintenance class. We will cover the basics of home bicycle maintenance\, as well as provide time to answer questions you may have about bicycle maintenance. If you have a bicycle and bring it\, we’ll also fill out your very own Bicycle Information Sheet. \nRegistration for the class is here. Suggested ticket price is sliding scale between $25-35.  \nWe will be inside working on our bicycles. \nThis course is for anyone 13 and up who wants to learn more about taking good care of a bicycle. It will cover the following topics: \n\nHow to fix a flat\nHow to properly inflate your tires\nHow to clean a chain and diagnose chain wear; and\nWhat each part of your bike is.\n\nAges 13+ – this is not a youth-specific course\, FYI. This initiative inspires new uses for public spaces\, allowing biking\, walking\, dancing\, and more. Neighbors\, businesses\, and organizations can reclaim street space\, creating opportunities for picnics\, art\, and play. The free event transforms streets into park-like settings\, fostering exploration and enjoyment without cars. Originating in Bogotá\, Colombia\, many cities now embrace Open Streets programs\, including Atlanta and Louisville. Tour the nearby Glencliff Elementary gardens\, have a poem written for you\, enjoy a Titans tailgate\, and connect with your neighbors in the streets! \nBring your bike or ride one of ours\nBike Fun will be at Open Streets with a bike skills course + some basic information on learning how to ride. Lunch is provided with pre-registration.\nThis Lunch and Learn will be a group ride with real-life demonstration of how to get around in Nashville using provided infrastructure.\nWe’ll roll to Centennial Park\, have lunch\, then roll back as a group to Public Square Park (riders are welcome to split off as needed).\nNeed a bike? We’ll have information on bike riding\, taking care of your bike\, and more. \nIndoor shop space is limited to 3 people at a time for up to one hour. \nIt’s donation-based\nWe’ve got a limited number of spare parts available on a sliding scale basis. If you just need bench space to use tools\, consider making donation to either Bike Fun or Cosecha Community. \nFirst come\, first served\nBasic fix assistance includes fix-a-flat\, bolt safety checks\, and chain cleaning. We will have replacement tubes & tires on a first-come-first-served basis. Come see us and learn how to keep your bike in good riding shape! \n\n¿Necesita herramientas\, piezas o asistencia? DESCRIPTION:This is a SPECIAL EVENT to encourage multigenerational bike riding\, get to meet other bike riders in the area\, and enjoy some tasty warm beverages (presuming the weather is cool enough!). We’ll have hot chocolate and cookies to share. \nTAKE OUR PARTICIPANT SURVEY & let us know how many folks you’re bringing if you can! \n\nRide schedule & details\n\nYou can show up starting at 1:30/1:45pm for a bike inspection and hang out. We’ll provide a safety overview and inflate tires. We will roll out at 2:15pm. \nTHIS EDITION OF THE PEDAL THE PARK RIDE WILL BEGIN AT CORNELIA FORT AIRPARK ON SHADOW LANE.  \nWe will roll as a large all-ages group\, then adults/older youth riders will split off for a guided ride on the back end of the greenway. Games are possible for the younger kids at the park entrance! \nHas it been a while since you last biked? Want to join but haven’t got your own bike? A limited number of bikes are available for us to bring – drop us a line at least 48 hours in advance so we can bring a bike that fits your needs. Bikes are FIRST COME\, FIRST SERVED.
