Get your kid started on their bicycling journey! \nThis course is for 7 and 8 year olds who have never pedaled a bicycle before. DESCRIPTION:Need tools\, parts\, support? We got you.\nCome join us on the second Tuesday of the month through the end of 2024 at Cosecha Community at Woodbine UMC. We’ll have information on bike riding\, taking care of your bike\, and more. \nIndoor shop space is limited to 3 people at a time for up to one hour. We ask for a deposit of wallet\, watch\, phone\, or keys in addition to a signed waiver. We will also have a workstand set up outside for quick fixes or inspections. \n  \nIt’s donation-based\nWe’ve got a limited number of spare parts available on a sliding scale basis. If you just need bench space to use tools\, consider making donation to either Bike Fun or Cosecha Community. \nFirst come\, first served\nBasic fix assistance includes fix-a-flat\, bolt safety checks\, and chain cleaning. We will have replacement tubes & tires on a first-come-first-served basis. Come see us and learn how to keep your bike in good riding shape! \n\n¿Necesita herramientas\, piezas o asistencia? SUMMARY:Pedal the Park with Friends of Shelby - October 14\, 2024
DESCRIPTION:Take a ride in the park with Friends of Shelby and Bike Fun! Twice a month\, we’ll cruise around Shelby Park starting from the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center Trailhead for a casual\, no-drop ride\, lasting about an hour. Free\, social bike ride for ages 10+.  \nThis ride supports new and returning bicycle riders for ages 10 and up who want to learn more about bicycle riding in a no-pressure\, encouraging environment. We will learn more about  \n\nthe hows and whys of greenway riding\nbasic bicycle maintenance\nfeatures of Shelby Park and Bottoms\nthe work Friends of Shelby Park does to support the park.\n\nDepending on the number of riders\, we may split up into different pace groups. \n\nRide schedule & details\nMeet at the Nature Center Trailhead – look for the bicycle riders by the trailhead sign. No RSVP required (unless you need a bicycle – see below!)  \n\nMeet up starting at 5pm for a bike inspection and hang out. We’ll provide a safety overview and check everyone’s tires. We will roll out at 5:30pm.  \nYOU MAY WANT TO BRING LIGHTS FOR THE OCTOBER RIDES! \nHas it been a while since you last biked? Want to join but haven’t got your own bike? A limited number of bikes are available for us to bring – drop us a line at least 48 hours in advance so we can provide a bike that fits your needs. Bikes are FIRST COME\, FIRST SERVED. We will cancel rides in case of heavy rain\, lightning\, or extreme heat (heat index of 95 or higher). Then we have something just for you! \nClass Details\nOn Sunday\, October 27th\, 2024\, Walk Bike Nashville hosts an EVERYBODY Learn to Ride event. Get started on your bike life! \nThis course is for people who have never pedaled a bicycle before or who have been away for decades! It will cover the following topics: \n\nGetting onto the bike\nBasic balance\nStarting and stopping\nPedaling\nTurning\n\nCome learn how to ride in a safe and supportive environment. \nThis is a multigenerational\, all ages learn to ride class.
