DESCRIPTION:You’re Never Too Old to Learn to Ride!\nThis course is for brand new riders who have either only pedaled on training wheels or who have tried without success to ride without training wheels. \nYou must register to attend – fill out this registration form! Class size limited to 5 students. Registration fee is $10-20. Income based scholarships available. \nDo you know a 7 or 8 year old who needs some help getting going on two wheels? Then we have something just for you! \nClass Details\nBike Fun is hosting a 7 & 8 Year Old Learn to Ride event. Get your kid started on their bicycling journey! \nThis course is for 7 and 8 year olds who have never pedaled a bicycle before. It covers the following topics: \n\nGetting onto the bike\nBasic balance\nStarting and stopping\nPedaling\nTurning\n\nCome learn how to ride in a safe and supportive environment. \nFor our learn to ride classes\, we emphasize exposure\, not expertise. Each human learns at their own pace\, and we work with each student within their own ability. \nAges 7 & 8. Bicycles and helmets can be provided for those who would like to attend\, but don’t have their own bicycle yet. Please bring a water bottle/hydration and a snack! Trade that worry for some comfort from several experienced bicycle commuters who will roll you through some of the ways to get started on your two wheeled adventures. \nCome for the lunch\, stay for the learn\n\nJoin the Nashville Connector\, KJ Garner of Bike Fun\, & local bicycle community guests on May 9 from 11 am to 1 pm for classroom style\, hands-on training to discuss how to commute by bike.\nThis Lunch and Learn will provide an overview on bike community and have tips and tricks on how to safely get to and from your destination.\nFree lunch is provided– registration required. \n\nDate: Thursday\, May 9th\nTime: 11 AM-1 PM\nLocation: Howard Office Building 700 2nd Avenue South\, 37210. Twice a month\, we’ll cruise around Shelby Park starting from the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center Trailhead for a casual\, no-drop ride\, lasting about an hour. Free\, social bike ride for ages 10+.  \nThis ride supports new and returning bicycle riders for ages 10 and up who want to learn more about bicycle riding in a no-pressure\, encouraging environment. We will learn more about  \n\nthe hows and whys of greenway riding\nbasic bicycle maintenance\nfeatures of Shelby Park and Bottoms\nthe work Friends of Shelby Park does to support the park.\n\nDepending on the number of riders\, we may split up into different pace groups. \n\nRide schedule & details\nMeet at the Nature Center Trailhead – look for the bicycle riders by the trailhead sign. No RSVP required (unless you need a bicycle – see below!)  \n\nMeet up starting at 5pm for a bike inspection and hang out. We’ll provide a safety overview and check everyone’s tires. We will roll out at 5:30pm.  \nHas it been a while since you last biked? Want to join but haven’t got your own bike? A limited number of bikes are available for us to bring – drop us a line at least 48 hours in advance so we can provide a bike that fits your needs. Bikes are FIRST COME\, FIRST SERVED. We will cancel rides in case of heavy rain\, lightning\, or extreme heat (heat index of 95 or higher).
