DESCRIPTION:Help us get some bikes cleaned!\n\nWe’re in need of some cleaning for bikes that have been in a dusty storage situation.\nIf you’ve got basic mechanical skills\, we’ll also be making adjustments either simple single speed kids bikes or (less likely) geared\, hand brake bikes.\nDrop by anytime during the hours of 10am and 1pm. We’ll wrap up by 2pm.\nIf it’s not too cold\, we’ll be in the back parking lot. If it’s cold or raining\, we will be inside the Bike Fun Bike Lab.\nMeet us at Woodbine UMC\, between Nolensville Pike and Grandview Ave.\n\nBike Fun will supply rags\, soap\, water\, degreaser\, etc. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. If there’s interest\, we’ll order some lunch! \nWe’ll be working RAIN OR SHINE with an indoor plan if needed!

DESCRIPTION:This is a SPECIAL EVENT to encourage multigenerational bike riding\, get to meet other bike riders in the area\, and enjoy some tasty warm beverages (presuming the weather is cool enough!). We’ll have hot chocolate and cookies to share. \nTAKE OUR PARTICIPANT SURVEY & let us know how many folks you’re bringing if you can! \n\nRide schedule & details\n\nYou can show up starting at 1:30/1:45pm for a bike inspection and hang out. We’ll provide a safety overview and inflate tires. We will roll out at 2:15pm. \nTHIS EDITION OF THE PEDAL THE PARK RIDE WILL BEGIN AT CORNELIA FORT AIRPARK ON SHADOW LANE.  \nWe will roll as a large all-ages group\, then adults/older youth riders will split off for a guided ride on the back end of the greenway. Games are possible for the younger kids at the park entrance! \nHas it been a while since you last biked? Want to join but haven’t got your own bike? A limited number of bikes are available for us to bring – drop us a line at least 48 hours in advance so we can bring a bike that fits your needs. Bikes are FIRST COME\, FIRST SERVED. Get started on your bike life! \nThis course is for adults (18+) who have never pedaled a bicycle before or who have been away for decades! DESCRIPTION:Help us get some bikes cleaned!\n\nWe’re in need of some cleaning for bikes that have been in a dusty storage situation.\nIf you’ve got basic mechanical skills\, we’ll also be making adjustments to these simple single speed kids bikes.\nDrop by anytime during the hours of 10am and 1pm. We’ll wrap up by 2pm.\nWe’ll be in the back parking lot of Woodbine UMC\, between Nolensville Pike and Grandview Ave.\n\nBike Fun will supply rags\, soap\, water\, degreaser\, etc. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. \nWe’ll be working RAIN OR SHINE.

Neighbors\, businesses\, and organizations can reclaim street space\, creating opportunities for picnics\, art\, and play. The free event transforms streets into park-like settings\, fostering exploration and enjoyment without cars. Originating in Bogotá\, Colombia\, many cities now embrace Open Streets programs\, including Atlanta and Louisville. Come learn how just a few maintenance tasks will keep your bike going longer. \nBike Fun is hosting a Basic Bicycle Maintenance class. We will cover the basics of home bicycle maintenance\, as well as provide time to answer questions you may have about bicycle maintenance. If you have a bicycle and bring it\, we’ll also fill out your very own Bicycle Information Sheet. \nRegistration for the class is here. Suggested ticket price is sliding scale between $25-35.  \nWe will be inside working on our bicycles. \nThis course is for anyone 13 and up who wants to learn more about taking good care of a bicycle. DESCRIPTION:Take a ride in the park with Friends of Shelby and Bike Fun! Twice a month\, we’ll cruise around Shelby Park starting from the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center Trailhead for a casual\, no-drop ride\, lasting about an hour. Free\, social bike ride for ages 10+.  \nThis ride supports new and returning bicycle riders for ages 10 and up who want to learn more about bicycle riding in a no-pressure\, encouraging environment. We will learn more about  \n\nthe hows and whys of greenway riding\nbasic bicycle maintenance\nfeatures of Shelby Park and Bottoms\nthe work Friends of Shelby Park does to support the park.\n\nDepending on the number of riders\, we may split up into different pace groups. \n\nRide schedule & details\nMeet at the Nature Center Trailhead – look for the bicycle riders by the trailhead sign. No RSVP required (unless you need a bicycle – see below!)  \n\nMeet up starting at 5pm for a bike inspection and hang out. We’ll provide a safety overview and check everyone’s tires. We will roll out at 5:30pm.  \nYOU MAY WANT TO BRING LIGHTS FOR THE OCTOBER RIDES! \nHas it been a while since you last biked? Want to join but haven’t got your own bike? We ask for a deposit of wallet\, watch\, phone\, or keys in addition to a signed waiver. We will also have a workstand set up outside for quick fixes or inspections. \n  \nIt’s donation-based\nWe’ve got a limited number of spare parts available on a sliding scale basis. If you just need bench space to use tools\, consider making donation to either Bike Fun or Cosecha Community. \nFirst come\, first served\nBasic fix assistance includes fix-a-flat\, bolt safety checks\, and chain cleaning. DESCRIPTION:Take a ride in the park with Friends of Shelby and Bike Fun! Twice a month\, we’ll cruise around Shelby Park starting from the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center Trailhead for a casual\, no-drop ride\, lasting about an hour. Free\, social bike ride for ages 10+.  \nThis ride supports new and returning bicycle riders for ages 10 and up who want to learn more about bicycle riding in a no-pressure\, encouraging environment. We will learn more about  \n\nthe hows and whys of greenway riding\nbasic bicycle maintenance\nfeatures of Shelby Park and Bottoms\nthe work Friends of Shelby Park does to support the park.\n\nDepending on the number of riders\, we may split up into different pace groups. \n\nRide schedule & details\nMeet at the Nature Center Trailhead – look for the bicycle riders by the trailhead sign. No RSVP required (unless you need a bicycle – see below!)  \n\nMeet up starting at 5pm for a bike inspection and hang out. We’ll provide a safety overview and check everyone’s tires. We will roll out at 5:30pm.  \nHas it been a while since you last biked? Want to join but haven’t got your own bike? A limited number of bikes are available for us to bring – drop us a line at least 48 hours in advance so we can provide a bike that fits your needs. Bikes are FIRST COME\, FIRST SERVED.
