SUMMARY:Holiday Lights Ride - December 2025
DESCRIPTION:Check out holiday light displays on a bike\nJoin Bike Fun and friends for a holiday light cruise on Saturday\, December 20th. We’ll roll at 4:30PM and aim to return to the start by 6:30PM. \nMeet at Shelby Community Center (in front) and be ready for a casual\, no drop ride through East Nashville and Inglewood. If there’s enough interest\, we’ll have a mid-ride hot beverage stop. \nIt will be getting dark as we ride so lights are required. \nThis is a NO DROP ride for all kinds of riders; do note that there may be hills along the way. Estimated time to complete the ride will be about 2 hours at the longest. (Bring a snack if you need one!) \nThis is a casual\, social ride – riders of all levels are welcome; however\, please be aware there will be hills on the route. \nWhat about the weather?\nIf it is torrentially downpouring or otherwise severe weather\, the ride will be cancelled. Slight mist will not stop this roll. We will call the ride no later than noon. \nRSVP below\nIf you are considering making the ride\, please fill out the registration form so we have an idea of how many folks to expect. Riders aged 10+ welcomed with parent or adult caregiver riding too. There’s no charge to just ride along & make new bike friends!

DESCRIPTION:Do you have a young one in your life who could benefit from extra confidence on a bike?\nOn Monday\, February 16th\, from 2-5PM Trek Bicycle Franklin will be hosting a FREE clinic on using the balance bike method to teach kids (of all ages) how to ride bikes. We’ll also have helmet fitting demonstrations. \nBike Fun will be leading the clinic\, supported by staff at Trek. \nWhat you’ll learn\nThe balance bike method for teaching kids how to ride bikes is backed by research and experience! The earlier you start\, the better – but this method is effective at ANY age. Bike Fun will go over tips and recommendations to increase the FUN of learning. \nWearing a helmet is important to protect growing brains; we’ll show you how to select a helmet that fits and feels good for your rider. \nSwing by Trek Franklin between 2-5PM on Monday\, February 16th (President’s Day) and get your kid started on a lifetime of smiles! DESCRIPTION:Help us get the Bike Lab organized!\n\nWe’re reorganizing the Bike Lab to create a little more space.\nWe are doing some Major Moving of bikes\, parts\, and tools – moving out of the room\, installing some new storage racks\, and then moving old storage racks over to East Nashville.\nWe can also use help assembling student packets for our learn to ride classes.\nDrop by anytime during the hours of 10am-1pm. At 1pm\, we will break for lunch and at 1:30pm we’ll have a crew head over to East Nashville to reassemble storage racks.\nMeet us at Woodbine UMC\, between Nolensville Pike and Grandview Ave.\nLet us know you’re coming if you can – it will guarantee you a lunch! sign up to volunteer here.\nFeel free to just drop by\, too.\n\nWear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty! \nWe’ll be working RAIN OR SHINE!

DESCRIPTION:Take a ride in the park with Friends of Shelby and Bike Fun! Twice a month\, we’ll cruise around Shelby Park starting from the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center Trailhead for a casual\, no-drop ride\, lasting about an hour. Free\, social bike ride for ages 10+.  \nThis ride supports new and returning bicycle riders for ages 10 and up who want to learn more about bicycle riding in a no-pressure\, encouraging environment. We will learn more about  \n\nthe hows and whys of greenway riding\nbasic bicycle maintenance\nfeatures of Shelby Park and Bottoms\nthe work Friends of Shelby Park does to support the park.\n\nDepending on the number of riders\, we may split up into different pace groups. \n\nRide schedule & details\nMeet at the Nature Center Trailhead – look for the bicycle riders by the trailhead sign. No RSVP required (unless you need a bicycle – see below!)  \n\nMeet up starting at 5pm for a bike inspection and hang out. We’ll provide a safety overview and check everyone’s tires as needed. We will roll out at 5:30pm.  \nYOU MAY WANT TO BRING LIGHTS! \nHas it been a while since you last biked? Want to join but haven’t got your own bike? A limited number of bikes are available for us to bring – drop us a line at least 48 hours in advance so we can provide a bike that fits your needs. Bikes are FIRST COME\, FIRST SERVED.
