DESCRIPTION:Join us for our FTW group bicycle ride. Any time is great to ride\, of course\, but it’s even better when it’s with new bike friends. \n\n(What’s FTW? Check out this blog post from Grease Rag {Minneapolis} supporter Emily on FTW rides and their meaning.) \n\n\nThis ride will center returning and new riders who hope to gain confidence and knowledge about riding a bike. Rides will be between 6-10 miles. No rider left behind. We will traverse streets and greenways.\n\nRide schedule & details\nMeet at the parking lot by the Vinnylinks (off of Davidson) just as you come into the park\, by the 3-way stop.\n\nWe will have a short (10 minute) maintenance demo at the beginning of the ride covering various topics like tire inflation\, fixing a dropped chain\, lubricating a drivetrain\, and more. (Only one topic covered per ride!)\n\nMeet at location 6:00p to mingle/chat; maintenance demo will happen by 5:40p; we will roll out of the location by 6:30p.\n\nDon’t want to mingle or watch demo? Just come by 6:30p to roll out.\n\nStart locations will be chosen from Ted Rhodes Golf Course (near the Cumberland River Greenway trailhead) in North Nashville and Shelby Park or Bass Park in East Nashville.\n\nIn case of predictable inclement weather\, the ride will be cancelled. We will post updates on our Twitter feed.\nRide requirements & requests\nPlease note: masks are OPTIONAL*. If you feel sick\, stay home! \nWe ride as a group to support new and returning bicycle riders – no rider left behind. If you are a more experienced bike rider\, you are welcome to come and help other FTW riders build their riding confidence and skills!\n\n  \nAdhere to all greenway trail etiquette (ride on right\, signal when passing\, stay under 15MPH\, slow down around walkers). \n\n\n  \nThere is no charge for this ride\, but donations to Bike Fun – a non-profit organization based in Nashville – are welcomed. DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately the #coffeeoutside ride this month is cancelled due to illness. Join us next month on the last Saturday of August for the next one!\nDo you like coffee? Do you like bikes? Come and join us on this #coffeeoutside ride! \nOn this morning ride\, we’ll meet at the base of the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge downtown (on the stadium side). \nMEET STARTING AT 8:30AM. ROLL OUT IS 8:45AM (maybe 8:50AM at the very latest). Our route will take us from the pedestrian bridge downtown\, up Demonbreun\, over behind Music Row and then through the Vanderbilt campus where we will stop at Three Brothers Coffee (UNION STRONG!!!) for coffee\, tea\, breakfast goodies. On the way back\, we’ll check out the Division Street bike lanes and head over to the bridge via 2nd/Korean Vets (sidewalk/Davidson Street approach). \nBEGINNERS ARE WELCOME though please note we will be riding partially on streets\, partially on greenways. There are some hills but nothing too insurmountable. This is a NO DROP RIDE. \nNote: there will likely be some IndyCar race activity with setup\, etc going on – please take this into account when getting over to the start!  \nDon’t have a bike? Rent one from the BCycle station! \nRide length will be no more than 10 miles. \n

We will traverse streets and greenways.\n\nRide schedule & details\nMeet at the parking lot by the Vinnylinks (off of Davidson) just as you come into the park\, by the 3-way stop.\n\nWe will have a short (10 minute) maintenance demo at the beginning of the ride covering various topics like tire inflation\, fixing a dropped chain\, lubricating a drivetrain\, and more. (Only one topic covered per ride!)\n\nMeet at location 6:00p to mingle/chat; maintenance demo will happen by 5:40p; we will roll out of the location by 6:30p.\n\nDon’t want to mingle or watch demo? Just come by 6:30p to roll out.\n\nStart locations will be chosen from Ted Rhodes Golf Course (near the Cumberland River Greenway trailhead) in North Nashville and Shelby Park or Bass Park in East Nashville.\n\nIn case of predictable inclement weather\, the ride will be cancelled. We will post updates on our Twitter feed.\nRide requirements & requests\nPlease note: masks are OPTIONAL*. If you feel sick\, stay home! \nWe ride as a group to support new and returning bicycle riders – no rider left behind. If you are a more experienced bike rider\, you are welcome to come and help other FTW riders build their riding confidence and skills!\n\n  \nAdhere to all greenway trail etiquette (ride on right\, signal when passing\, stay under 15MPH\, slow down around walkers). \n\n\n  \nThere is no charge for this ride\, but donations to Bike Fun – a non-profit organization based in Nashville – are welcomed. DESCRIPTION:Bike Fun will be lead teaching a course for adults on learning (or relearning) how to ride a bicycle. This course is meant for brand new riders and for potential riders who are anxious about getting back on a bicycle after a long time away. Walk Bike Nashville will be sponsoring the course. \nYou must register to attend – fill out the registration form here. Class size is limited.  \nDo you know someone who never learned to ride a bike as a child but has always wanted to? Do you feel like you could use a refresher after a long\, long time away? Then we have something just for you! \nOn Sunday\, July 17th\, 2022\, Walk Bike Nashville is hosting an Adult Learn to Ride event. Come help us get you started on your bicycling journey! \nThis course is for folks who have never pedaled a bicycle before or who have been away for decades! It will cover the following topics: \n\nGetting onto the bike\nBasic balance\nStarting and stopping\nPedaling\nTurning\n\nCome learn how to ride in a safe and supportive environment. \nAges 18+.
