DESCRIPTION:TIME CHANGE TO 5:30 MEET\, 6P ROLL FOR SEPTEMBER! THANK YOU! \nJoin us for our FTW group bicycle ride. Any time is great to ride\, of course\, but it’s even better when it’s with new bike friends. \n\n(What’s FTW? Check out this blog post from Grease Rag {Minneapolis} supporter Emily on FTW rides and their meaning.) \n\n\nThis ride will center returning and new riders who hope to gain confidence and knowledge about riding a bike. Rides will be between 6-10 miles. No rider left behind. We will traverse streets and greenways.\n\nRide schedule & details\nMeet in the main parking lot by the clubhouse at the golf course. \n\n\nWe will have a short (10 minute) maintenance demo at the beginning of the ride covering various topics like tire inflation\, fixing a dropped chain\, lubricating a drivetrain\, and more. (Only one topic covered per ride!)\n\nMeet at location 5:30p to mingle/chat; maintenance demo will happen by 5:40p; we will roll out of the location by 6:00p.\n\nDon’t want to mingle or watch demo? Just come by 6:00p to roll out.\n\n\nStart locations will be chosen from Ted Rhodes Golf Course (near the Cumberland River Greenway trailhead) in North Nashville and Shelby Park or Bass Park in East Nashville.\n\nIn case of predictable inclement weather\, the ride will be cancelled. DESCRIPTION:UPDATED TIME FOR THIS CLASS: 1-3PM \nLearn 3 caregiving tasks to keep your bicycle in tip top shape. Receive praise from the bike shop for keeping your bike in good order! Find out why it’s important to clean your bike\, what inflation to use for your tires\, how to clean a chain\, and more. \nYou must register to attend – fill out this registration form! Class size is limited to 7 students. Suggested donation $10-15.  \nWant to keep your bike on the road and out of the shop? Come learn how just a few maintenance tasks will keep your bike going longer. \nOn Saturday\, September 10th\, Bike Fun is hosting a Basic Bicycle Maintenance class. We’ll be outside and will cover the basics of home bicycle maintenance\, as well as provide time to answer all the questions you may have about bicycle maintenance. If you have a bicycle and bring it\, we’ll also fill out your very own Bicycle Information Sheet. \nThis course is for anyone 7-12 years of age (and their parent or caregiver!!) who wants to learn more about taking good care of a bicycle. It will cover the following topics: \n\nHow to fix a flat\nHow to properly inflate your tires\nHow to clean a chain and diagnose chain wear; and\nHow to make basic brake adjustments.\n\nParents and caregivers are welcome to stay and watch. Bicycles can be provided for those who would like to attend but don’t have their own bicycle yet. Please bring a water bottle/hydration and a snack! Come and join us on this #coffeeoutside ride! \nOn this morning ride\, we’ll meet at the base of the pedestrian bridge by the stadium\, EAST side\, near the BCycle station. We’re going to head over to Three Brothers Coffee (UNION STRONG) for some delicious morning brew\, breakfast nosh\, or just enjoyment of others’ company. \nMEET STARTING AT 8:30AM. ROLL OUT IS 8:45AM (maybe 8:50AM at the very latest). Our route will take us over the pedestrian bridge\, down 3rd and up Demonbreun\, across West End on 16th to Church\, down Church\, and in a big show of riding strength across West End to go on Natchez Trace & park in the back of Cumberland Transit. On the way back\, we’ll go out across the hospital campus and through Music Row\, back down Demonbreun and back across the pedestrian bridge. \nBEGINNERS ARE WELCOME though please note we will be riding partially on streets\, partially on greenways. There are some hills but nothing too insurmountable. (The biggest one is at the beginning – and the end!) This is a NO DROP RIDE\, A-to-A route. \nDon’t have a bike? This class is designed for students who are comfortable riding a bike and want to learn about handling skills. \nYou must register to attend – fill out this registration form! Class size is limited to 5 students. Suggested donation $10-15.  \nGot a 7 or 8 year old who wants to learn more about bicycle handling skills\, signaling\, or riding with friends? \nOn Saturday\, August 13th\, Bike Fun is hosting Intermediate Riding Skills for 7 & 8 Year Olds. Come help us get your kid up to speed on signaling\, weaving\, riding with friends and more! \nThis course is for 7 and 8 year olds who are comfortable riding a bicycle but need to improve their handling skills. It will cover the following topics: \n\nWeaving in between objects\nMaking hand signals\nLooking out for obstacles/fellow riders\n\nCome increase riding skills in a safe and supportive environment. \nAges 7 & 8. Bicycles and helmets can be provided for those who would like to attend but don’t have their own bicycle yet. Borrowed bicycles may need to be shared among participants. Please bring a water bottle/hydration and a snack! DESCRIPTION:Join us for our FTW group bicycle ride. Any time is great to ride\, of course\, but it’s even better when it’s with new bike friends. \n\n(What’s FTW? Check out this blog post from Grease Rag {Minneapolis} supporter Emily on FTW rides and their meaning.) \n\n\nThis ride will center returning and new riders who hope to gain confidence and knowledge about riding a bike. Rides will be between 6-10 miles. No rider left behind. We will traverse streets and greenways.\n\nRide schedule & details\nMeet at the parking lot by the Vinnylinks (off of Davidson) just as you come into the park\, by the 3-way stop.\n\nWe will have a short (10 minute) maintenance demo at the beginning of the ride covering various topics like tire inflation\, fixing a dropped chain\, lubricating a drivetrain\, and more. (Only one topic covered per ride!)\n\nMeet at location 6:00p to mingle/chat; maintenance demo will happen by 5:40p; we will roll out of the location by 6:30p.\n\nDon’t want to mingle or watch demo? Just come by 6:30p to roll out.\n\nStart locations will be chosen from Ted Rhodes Golf Course (near the Cumberland River Greenway trailhead) in North Nashville and Shelby Park or Bass Park in East Nashville.\n\nIn case of predictable inclement weather\, the ride will be cancelled. We will post updates on our Twitter feed.\nRide requirements & requests\nPlease note: masks are OPTIONAL*. If you feel sick\, stay home! \nWe ride as a group to support new and returning bicycle riders – no rider left behind.
