First come\, first served – we’ll try to get to everyone! Rain date will be Saturday\, November 11th. \nLet’s go for a ride!\nAfterwards – weather pending – come with us on a community bike ride from 1-3p (approximately) through the neighborhood to McFerrin Park and back. Class size limited to 5 students. Registration fee is $10-15. Income based scholarships available. \nDo you know a 9 or 10 year old who needs some help getting going on two wheels? Then we have something just for you! \nClass Details\nBike Fun is hosting a 9 & 10 Year Old Learn to Ride event. Get your kid started on their bicycling journey! \nThis course is for 9 and 10 year olds who have never pedaled a bicycle before. It covers the following topics: \n\nGetting onto the bike\nBasic balance\nStarting and stopping\nPedaling\nTurning\n\nCome learn how to ride in a safe and supportive environment. \nFor our learn to ride classes\, we emphasize exposure\, not expertise. DESCRIPTION:Riding at night isn’t spooky when you’re with friends\nOn Thursday\, October 26 from 6:30 – 9:00PM Patagonia Nashville will be hosting a Halloween Costume bike ride through the beautiful city of Nashville! \nIt will be an 8-mile ride (roughly 45 minutes) starting at Patagonia Nashville through downtown\, past the Capitol\, and into Centennial Park for a photo op\, finishing along the river back to Patagonia. \nBike Fun\, Walk Bike Nashville\, Music City Dope Pedalers\, Queer Spokes\, Bike for Equality\, Oasis Bike Workshop\, and Greenways for Nashville will all be on hand to support the ride and to answer questions you might have about bike riding in Nashville – and beyond! \nAlong with the ride\, there will costume contests and a hang with snacks and refreshments after the ride courtesy of Besitas Nashville and Bearded Iris Brewing. \nLearn more about each group\nThere will be information about each group at tables inside the store. DESCRIPTION:Special after ride destination!\nTonight’s ride will have an after-ride option of rolling from the park up to Five Points in East Nashville for a slice of pizza! Bring lights and other preferred visibility devices (banana suit\, tutu) if you’d like to join us! We will be riding ON THE STREETS and AT NIGHT – if you’ve never done either\, come get a feel for what it’s like with this group of awesome bike riders. \nBring $ to cover your pizza slice and other purchases (if you don’t have the budget for it\, we can help you out – just be in touch). \nRide series ends this month – we’ll have a special multigenerational/family ride in November! \nRoll with us in the park\nTake a ride in the park with Friends of Shelby and Bike Fun! Twice a month\, we’ll cruise along the Shelby Bottoms Greenway starting from the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center Trailhead for a casual\, no-drop ride\, lasting about an hour. Free\, social bike ride for ages 10+.  \nThis ride supports new and returning bicycle riders for ages 10 and up who want to learn more about bicycle riding in a no-pressure\, encouraging environment. We will learn more about  \n\nthe hows and whys of greenway riding\nbasic bicycle maintenance\nfeatures of Shelby Park and Bottoms\nthe work Friends of Shelby Park does to support the park.\n\n\nRide schedule & details\nMeet at the Nature Center Trailhead – look for the group of bicycle riders. No RSVP required (unless you need a bicycle – see below!)  \n\nMeet up starting at 5pm for a bike inspection and hang out. We’ll provide a safety overview and check everyone’s tires. We will roll out at 5:30pm.  \nHas it been a while since you last biked? Want to join but haven’t got your own bike? A limited number of bikes are available for us to bring – drop us a line at least 48 hours in advance so we can bring a bike that fits your needs. Bikes are FIRST COME\, FIRST SERVED. We will cancel rides in case of heavy rain\, lightning\, or extreme heat (heat index of 95 or higher). DESCRIPTION:See how bike infrastructure is evolving in East Nashville\nYou are invited to the East Nashville Spokes Community Open House on October 19th from 5:30 to 7pm at the East Park Community Center. Bike Fun will be providing guided bike loops on demo bike infrastructure set up outside the community center. We will also be assisting with helmet fitting\, bike riding techniques\, and more! \nThe East Nashville Spokes project will provide protected bike lanes\, enhanced pedestrian crossings\, optimized intersections\, and other transportation improvements for Woodland/Union Streets\, South 5th Street\, and South 10th Street. East Nashville Spokes is the culmination of many years of planning for bikeway and multimodal improvements between East Nashville and downtown. \nVisit the open house for more details\nThe open house will provide more information on existing conditions findings\, design concepts\, and real life examples of delineator options for the public to see and experience. Twice a month\, we’ll cruise along the Shelby Bottoms Greenway starting from the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center Trailhead for a casual\, no-drop ride\, lasting about an hour. Free\, social bike ride for ages 10+.  \nThis ride supports new and returning bicycle riders for ages 10 and up who want to learn more about bicycle riding in a no-pressure\, encouraging environment. Get your kid started on their bicycling journey! \nThis course is for 7 and 8 year olds who have never pedaled a bicycle before. DESCRIPTION:Updated start time for September – 5:30p meet\, 6:00p roll! \nJoin us for our FTW group bicycle ride. Any time is great to ride\, of course\, but it’s even better when it’s with new bike friends. We roll 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month. Kick off the week with a ride! \n\n(What’s FTW? Check out this blog post from Grease Rag {Minneapolis} supporter Emily on FTW rides and their meaning.) \n\n\nThis ride will center returning and new riders who hope to gain confidence and knowledge about riding a bike. Rides will be between 5-8 miles. No rider left behind. We will traverse streets and greenways.\n\nRide schedule & details\nMeet in the main parking lot by the clubhouse at the golf course. \n\nWe will have a short (10 minute) maintenance demo at the beginning of the ride covering basic bike maintenance.\n\nMeet at location 5:30p to mingle/chat; maintenance demo will happen by 5:40p; we will roll out of the location by 6:00p.\n\nDon’t want to mingle or watch demo? Just come by 6:00p to roll out. There is a BCycle station nearby if you need to rent a bike!\n\nIn case of predictable inclement weather\, the ride will be cancelled. We will post updates on our Twitter feed.\nRide requirements & requests\nIf you feel sick\, stay home! \nWe ride as a group to support new and returning bicycle riders – no rider left behind. If you are a more experienced bike rider\, you are welcome to come and help other FTW riders build their riding confidence and skills!\n\n  \nAdhere to all greenway trail etiquette (ride on right\, signal when passing\, stay under 15MPH\, slow down around walkers). \n\n\n  \nThere is no charge for this ride\, but donations to Bike Fun – a non-profit organization based in Nashville – are welcomed.
