DESCRIPTION:Take the bicycle festival survey here\nLet’s ride a bike!\nThe South Inglewood Bicycle Festival is back for a second year! This event brings together a wide variety of bicycling enthusiasts – from supporters to mechanics\, from beginners to experienced cyclists\, from commuters to mountain bikers to cargo haulers and more. \nBike Fun is grateful to have received a second year grant from the Inglewood Neighborhood Association in support of this event. We are also thankful for our returning location partner\, the South Inglewood Community Center! \nIf there’s inclement weather\, the Bicycle Festival will be held inside the South Inglewood Community Center. Otherwise\, we’ll be outside! \nWhat’s going on during the festival?\nRebecca Street will be a SLOW STREET! It will be CLOSED to anything other than residential traffic. You can access the community center parking lot via Moore. DESCRIPTION:WE’RE BACK FOR 2024!\nTake a ride in the park with Friends of Shelby and Bike Fun! Twice a month\, we’ll cruise around Shelby Park starting from the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center Trailhead for a casual\, no-drop ride\, lasting about an hour. Free\, social bike ride for ages 10+.  \nThis ride supports new and returning bicycle riders for ages 10 and up who want to learn more about bicycle riding in a no-pressure\, encouraging environment. We will learn more about  \n\nthe hows and whys of greenway riding\nbasic bicycle maintenance\nfeatures of Shelby Park and Bottoms\nthe work Friends of Shelby Park does to support the park.\n\nDepending on the number of riders\, we may split up into different pace groups. \n\nRide schedule & details\nMeet at the Nature Center Trailhead – look for the bicycle riders by the trailhead sign. No RSVP required (unless you need a bicycle – see below!)  \n\nMeet up starting at 5pm for a bike inspection and hang out. We’ll provide a safety overview and check everyone’s tires. We will roll out at 5:30pm.  \nHas it been a while since you last biked? Want to join but haven’t got your own bike? A limited number of bikes are available for us to bring – drop us a line at least 48 hours in advance so we can provide a bike that fits your needs. Bikes are FIRST COME\, FIRST SERVED. DESCRIPTION:Hooray for 30 Days of Biking!\nA Bike Fun group ride to celebrate the start of 30 Days of Biking! The ride will roll for about 10-15 miles on the Cumberland River Greenway and in Germantown and is casual paced\, no drop. We’ll split into 2 speed groups to make rolling more efficient! \nAll ages welcomed\nWant to bring your kids? We’ll have a turnaround spot for young riders at about 3 1/2 miles in. \nSchedule of events\nWe will head to Morgan Park for a mid-ride coffee stop. (We’ll have regular coffee & some other beverages to share.) \nMeet up at the Ted Rhodes golf course clubhouse parking lot starting around noon. We will roll out by 10:30a. If you need to borrow a bicycle\, there is a BCycle station nearby or Bike Fun can provide one for you with ample advance notice (get in contact here). \nWhere: Ted Rhodes golf course parking lot\nWhen: Saturday\, April 6th\, 10a meet – 10:30a roll\nHow far: 10-15 miles round trip\, with a conversation stop in the middle. DESCRIPTION:This is a SPECIAL EVENT to encourage multigenerational bike riding\, get to meet other bike riders in the area\, and enjoy some tasty warm beverages (presuming the weather is cool enough!). We’ll have hot chocolate and another beverage option TBD. Tell us what your top two hot drinks are at the survey! \n\nRide schedule & details\n\nMeet up starting at 1:30/1:45pm for a bike inspection and hang out. We’ll provide a safety overview and check everyone’s tires. We will roll out at 2:30pm. \nTHIS EDITION OF THE PEDAL THE PARK RIDE WILL BEGIN AT CORNELIA FORT AIRPARK ON SHADOW LANE.  \nWe will roll as a large all-ages group\, then adults/older youth riders will split off for a guided ride on the back end of the greenway. Games are possible for the younger kids at the park entrance! \nHas it been a while since you last biked? Want to join but haven’t got your own bike? A limited number of bikes are available for us to bring – drop us a line at least 48 hours in advance so we can bring a bike that fits your needs. Bikes are FIRST COME\, FIRST SERVED. DESCRIPTION:Bring your bicycle back to life\nA bicycle revival is an event where bicycles are refreshed and riders can learn more about mechanical magic! Bike Fun will have mechanics on hand to help with repairs both basic and intermediate: cleaning and lubricating chains\, flat tire repairs\, and brake checks among others. \nCome bring your bicycle to us\nWe’ll be at Trinity Community Commons on Saturday\, November 4th\, from 10am-noon. First come\, first served – we’ll try to get to everyone! Rain date will be Saturday\, November 11th. \nLet’s go for a ride!\nAfterwards – weather pending – come with us on a community bike ride from 1-3p (approximately) through the neighborhood to McFerrin Park and back.
