DESCRIPTION:Join Nashville Connector and Bike Fun for a no drop\, casual group ride on Thursday\, September 18th at 11:00 am. We’ll meet at Riverfront Station by the train depot\, leaving at 11:05 am. \nBox lunch provided and pre-registration required. A BCycle bike can be provided upon request. PLEASE REGISTER AT THIS LINK to ensure you receive a lunch and/or a BCycle! \nDeparting at 11:05 am\, we’ll start at Riverfront Station\, roll around Bridgestone Arena\, up Demonbreun into the Midtown\, Music Row and Vanderbilt areas\, then towards Church St./Athena and back downtown\, covering about 5 miles. DESCRIPTION:Riding at night isn’t scary when you’re with friends\nJoin Patagonia and partners: Music City Dope Pedalers\, Bike for Equality\, Walk Bike Nashville\, Bike Fun\, Nashville Connector – NDOT\, Oasis Bike Workshop\, and Rivian Nashville as we cruise around the city in our Halloween Costumes! \nIt will be a no drop 6-mile ride (roughly 45 minutes) starting at Patagonia Nashville through downtown\, past the Capitol\, and into Centennial Park for a photo op\, finishing along the river back to Patagonia. Link to the bike route \nSchedule for the event: \n– Doors: 5:15pm\n– Contest Walk: 5:40pm\n– Ride: 6:00pm \nAlong with the ride\, there will be costume contests* and a hang with snacks and refreshments after the ride. SUMMARY:Holiday Lights Ride - December 2025
DESCRIPTION:Check out holiday light displays on a bike\nJoin Bike Fun and friends for a holiday light cruise on Saturday\, December 20th. We’ll roll at 4:30PM and aim to return to the start by 6:30PM. \nMeet at Shelby Community Center (in front) and be ready for a casual\, no drop ride through East Nashville and Inglewood. If there’s enough interest\, we’ll have a mid-ride hot beverage stop. \nIt will be getting dark as we ride so lights are required. \nThis is a NO DROP ride for all kinds of riders; do note that there may be hills along the way. Estimated time to complete the ride will be about 2 hours at the longest. (Bring a snack if you need one!) \nThis is a casual\, social ride – riders of all levels are welcome; however\, please be aware there will be hills on the route. \nWhat about the weather?\nIf it is torrentially downpouring or otherwise severe weather\, the ride will be cancelled. Slight mist will not stop this roll. We will call the ride no later than noon. \nRSVP below\nIf you are considering making the ride\, please fill out the registration form so we have an idea of how many folks to expect. Riders aged 10+ welcomed with parent or adult caregiver riding too. There’s no charge to just ride along & make new bike friends!

Let’s get back on!\nThis free workshop for returning adult riders is geared towards bicycle riders who want to boost their confidence to ride in the neighborhood\, to ride with their community\, and to ride on their own. \nTopics covered will include \n\nPre-ride bike check\nStrong starting and safe stopping\nScanning\, signalling\, and turning\nAssessing conditions when riding\n\nWho should take this class?\nThis class is designed for adult students who know how to ride a bike and want to increase their riding confidence after some time away from riding or for adults who have recently learned how to ride and want to practice the basics. Bike Fun has limited bicycles and helmets to use for students who need them. If you need a bicycle or helmet\, just let us know on the registration form! \nWhat should I bring?\nIf you have a bicycle to ride that is in safe working condition\, please bring it! (Not sure if it’s in safe working condition? Bring it to a local bike shop for a once-over before the workshop\, or visit us at a Bike Lab Open Shop event to learn how to work on it yourself! We cannot repair bicycles on site.) \nBring a snack and some water. SUMMARY:Pedal the Park with Friends of Shelby
DESCRIPTION:Take a ride in the park with Friends of Shelby and Bike Fun! Twice a month\, we’ll cruise around Shelby Park starting from the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center Trailhead for a casual\, no-drop ride\, lasting about an hour. Free\, social bike ride for ages 10+.  \nThis ride supports new and returning bicycle riders for ages 10 and up who want to learn more about bicycle riding in a no-pressure\, encouraging environment. We will learn more about  \n\nthe hows and whys of greenway riding\nbasic bicycle maintenance\nfeatures of Shelby Park and Bottoms\nthe work Friends of Shelby Park does to support the park.\n\nDepending on the number of riders\, we may split up into different pace groups. \n\nRide schedule & details\nMeet at the Nature Center Trailhead – look for the bicycle riders by the trailhead sign. No RSVP required (unless you need a bicycle – see below!)  \n\nMeet up starting at 5pm for a bike inspection and hang out. We’ll provide a safety overview and check everyone’s tires as needed. We will roll out at 5:30pm.  \nYOU MAY WANT TO BRING LIGHTS! \nHas it been a while since you last biked? Want to join but haven’t got your own bike? A limited number of bikes are available for us to bring – drop us a line at least 48 hours in advance so we can provide a bike that fits your needs. Bikes are FIRST COME\, FIRST SERVED. We will cancel rides in case of heavy rain\, lightning\, or extreme heat (heat index of 95 or higher). Check the event calendar for updates!\nRide requirements & requests\nIf you feel sick\, stay home! \nWe ride as a group to support new and returning bicycle riders – no rider left behind. If you are a more experienced bike rider\, you are welcome to come and help other riders build their riding confidence and skills!\n\nAdhere to all greenway trail etiquette (ride on right\, signal when passing\, stay under 15MPH\, slow down around walkers). \n\n\nThere is no charge for this ride\, but donations to Bike Fun or Friends of Shelby are gratefully accepted.

SUMMARY:HOT CHOCOLATE the Park with Friends of Shelby - November 2026
DESCRIPTION:This is a SPECIAL EVENT to encourage all ages bike riding\, get to meet other bike riders in the area\, and enjoy some tasty beverages. We’ll have hot chocolate and treats to share. \nTAKE OUR PARTICIPANT SURVEY & let us know how many folks you’re bringing if you can! \n\nRiders and participants at Hot Chocolate the Park with Friends of Shelby and Bike Fun in November 2025.\nRide schedule & details\n\nYou can show up starting at 1:30/1:45pm for a bike inspection and hang out. We’ll provide a safety overview and inflate tires. We will roll out at 2:15pm. \nTHIS EDITION OF THE PEDAL THE PARK RIDE WILL BEGIN AT CORNELIA FORT AIRPARK ON SHADOW LANE.  \nWe will roll as a large all-ages group\, then adults/older youth riders will split off for a guided ride on the back end of the greenway. Games for all ages will be held at the park entrance after the rides! \nHas it been a while since you last biked? Want to join but haven’t got your own bike? We will have an assortment of youth and adult sizes available at the event! Bikes are FIRST COME\, FIRST SERVED.  \nRides are weather pending.
