SUMMARY:Holiday Lights Ride - December 2025
DESCRIPTION:Check out holiday light displays on a bike\nJoin Bike Fun and friends for a holiday light cruise on Saturday\, December 20th. We’ll roll at 4:30PM and aim to return to the start by 6:30PM. \nMeet at Shelby Community Center (in front) and be ready for a casual\, no drop ride through East Nashville and Inglewood. If there’s enough interest\, we’ll have a mid-ride hot beverage stop. \nIt will be getting dark as we ride so lights are required. \nThis is a NO DROP ride for all kinds of riders; do note that there may be hills along the way. Estimated time to complete the ride will be about 2 hours at the longest. (Bring a snack if you need one!) \nThis is a casual\, social ride – riders of all levels are welcome; however\, please be aware there will be hills on the route. \nWhat about the weather?\nIf it is torrentially downpouring or otherwise severe weather\, the ride will be cancelled. Slight mist will not stop this roll. We will call the ride no later than noon. \nRSVP below\nIf you are considering making the ride\, please fill out the registration form so we have an idea of how many folks to expect. Riders aged 10+ welcomed with parent or adult caregiver riding too. There’s no charge to just ride along & make new bike friends!

Let’s get back on!\nThis free workshop for returning adult riders is geared towards bicycle riders who want to boost their confidence to ride in the neighborhood\, to ride with their community\, and to ride on their own. \nRegister here! \nTopics covered will include \n\nPre-ride bike check\nStrong starting and safe stopping\nScanning\, signalling\, and turning\nAssessing conditions when riding\n\nWho should take this class?\nThis class is designed for adult students who know how to ride a bike and want to increase their riding confidence after some time away from riding or for adults who have recently learned how to ride. Bike Fun has limited bicycles and helmets to use for students who need them. If you need a bicycle or helmet\, we have some available – just let us know on the registration form! \nWhat should I bring?\nIf you have a bicycle to ride that is in safe working condition\, please bring it! (Not sure if it’s in safe working condition? Bring it to a local bike shop for a once-over before the workshop\, or visit us at a Bike Lab Open Shop event to learn how to work on it yourself! We cannot repair bicycles on site.) \nBring a snack and some water. DESCRIPTION:This is a SPECIAL EVENT to encourage all ages bike riding\, get to meet other bike riders in the area\, and enjoy deliciously cold popsicle treats. (Tell us if you’re coming & RSVP for a bike if needed at our survey here.) All wheels welcomed! \n\nRide schedule & details\n\nMeet up starting at 3:45pm for a bike inspection and hang out. We’ll provide a safety overview and check everyone’s tires. We will roll out at 4:15pm. \nTHIS EDITION OF THE PEDAL THE PARK RIDE WILL BEGIN AT CORNELIA FORT AIRPARK ON SHADOW LANE.  \nWe will roll as a large all-ages group\, then adults/older youth riders will split off for a guided ride on the back end of the greenway\, & younger riders will meet at the airpark entrance for games & more!  \nHas it been a while since you last biked? DESCRIPTION:Been out of the saddle for a while? Let’s get back on!\nThis free workshop for returning adult riders is geared towards bicycle riders who want to boost their confidence to ride in the neighborhood\, to ride with their community\, and to ride on their own. \nRegister here! \nTopics covered will include \n\nPre-ride bike check\nStrong starting and safe stopping\nScanning\, signalling\, and turning\nAssessing conditions when riding\n\nWho should take this class?\nThis class is designed for adult students who know how to ride a bike and want to increase their riding confidence after some time away from riding or for adults who have recently learned how to ride. Bike Fun has limited bicycles and helmets to use for students who need them. If you need a bicycle or helmet\, we have some available – just let us know on the registration form! \nWhat should I bring?\nIf you have a bicycle to ride that is in safe working condition\, please bring it! (Not sure if it’s in safe working condition? Bring it to a local bike shop for a once-over before the workshop\, or visit us at a Bike Lab Open Shop event to learn how to work on it yourself! We cannot repair bicycles on site.) \nBring a snack and some water. Bathrooms are available on site as needed. \nOther class details\nWe will work in the side parking lot and then apply the skills we learn during a short neighborhood ride. \nClass size is limited to 10 participants. \nThis class is free and open to the public. DESCRIPTION:Let’s ride a bike!\nGoing strong into its third year\, the new moniker for the festival is the \nNashville Bicycle Festival\nThis event brings together a wide variety of bicycling enthusiasts – from supporters to mechanics\, from beginners to experienced cyclists\, from commuters to mountain bikers to cargo haulers and more. \nWhen: Saturday\, April 12th\, 10A-2P\nWhere: South Inglewood Community Center\, 1624 Rebecca Street (approach from Moore Street if not on foot/on a bike) \n \nWhat: Block printing of bicycle art (bring your own t-shirt if you want!)\, slow bicycle race\, bicycle parade\, best dressed bicycle contest\, HUB bike blitz\, helmet fittings & giveaways\, bike sizing & giveaways\, rider & bicycle visibility station\, & more. We are also thankful for our location partner\, the South Inglewood Community Center! \nIf there’s inclement weather\, the Bicycle Festival will be held inside the South Inglewood Community Center. DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately\, we’re looking at some wet weather coming our way – lots of it!\nIn order to respect everyone’s time and energy\, we are CANCELLING this event for this year. \nLook for another social and fun coffee ride coming in May! \nHooray for 30 Days of Biking!\nA Bike Fun group ride to celebrate the start of 30 Days of Biking! The ride will roll for about 10-15 miles and is casual paced\, no drop. We’ll split into 2 speed groups to make rolling more efficient! RSVP here (it’s free\, we just want to know how many people to expect). \nAll ages welcomed\nWant to bring your kids? We’ll have a turnaround spot for young riders at about 3 1/2 miles in. \nNeed a bike?\nBike Fun can provide bikes for adults or kids (no training wheels). Limited bikes available – contact us by Wednesday\, April 2nd to confirm. \nSchedule of events\nMeet: Trailhead at Ted Rhodes Golf Course\, 1901 Ed Temple Blvd \nTime: 10AM meet\, 10:15AM greetings & roll out \nHow far: 10-15 miles round trip\, with a conversation stop in the middle. Brief pause at turnaround spot at 3 1/2 miles for young riders \nWho: Any rider who wants to make new bike friends and enjoy a casual\, no drop roll along the river and on neighborhood streets. \nTHIS EVENT IS RAIN OR SHINE (but not if heavy rain or lightning)
