East Nashville Spokes is the culmination of many years of planning for bikeway and multimodal improvements between East Nashville and downtown. \nVisit the open house for more details\nThe open house will provide more information on existing conditions findings\, design concepts\, and real life examples of delineator options for the public to see and experience. DESCRIPTION:Let’s ride a bike!\nThe South Inglewood Bicycle Festival will bring together a wide variety of bicycling enthusiasts – from supporters to mechanics\, from beginners to experienced cyclists\, from commuters to mountain bikers to cargo haulers and more. \nBike Fun is grateful to have received a grant from the Inglewood Neighborhood Association in support of this event. \nIf there’s inclement weather\, the Bicycle Festival will be held inside the South Inglewood Community Center. Otherwise\, we’ll be outside! \nWhat’s going on during the festival?\nIn addition to the tables and activities from festival participants\, Bike Fun will have 5 stations for attendees: \n\na basic bicycle maintenance station (staffed by volunteers from Oasis Bike Workshop & Bike Fun)\na station for traffic laws and safety guidelines (staffed by volunteers from Bike Fun)\na helmet fitting station (staffed by volunteers from TICL / NICA GRiT)\na station with crafts to make your bike or bike helmet more fun and visible (staffed by volunteers from Patagonia Nashville & Bike Fun)\na bicycle sizing & style station (staffed by volunteers from REI Brentwood)\n\nThanks to our participants\, we’ll have some great giveaways at the Bicycle Festival including helmets\, lights\, kids bikes\, t-shirts\, and more. \nExtra chances to win cool bike stuff!\nAll festival participants and attendees can pledge to ride their bicycle during the entire month of April as part of 30 Days of Biking. DESCRIPTION:Drop in at the Bike Fun table to get rolling on your bicycle wellness journey.\nCome join us at the New Beginnings Center on Craighead Avenue to find out more about bicycles and bicycle riding. We’ll be tabling along with other groups talking about movement\, general health\, & strength development. This is a women-only event. \nBicycling helps with physical and mental health as well as just being a fun way to get around. Get advice on bicycle sizing\, finding a bicycle\, and maintaining a bicycle at this event. We will be inside; masks are required for entry. \nBike Fun is a non-profit whose mission is to create joyful riders in Middle Tennessee. \nThe New Beginnings Center is a non-profit whose mission is to help women with lower income levels discover the strength in themselves\, inside and out\, and to become the healthiest they can be. \n

This event will highlight all the fun activities available in Shelby and the wider Parks system. \nBike Fun will be operating the Bike Lab\, which will help you get a grounding in keeping your bike roll-ready for the upcoming spring riding season! Learn about tires\, brakes\, and chains. DESCRIPTION:This is the NCE’s Spring Showcase\, where you can meet your instructors\, see what former students have created\, and learn more about their programs. Instructors and students will be available with samples of work from classes and demonstrations. Register for classes and find your classroom before the first night! \nThere will be lots of prizes throughout the evening including gift certificates\, NCE swag\, and more. \nKJ will be teaching as part of the Nashville Community Education series. This class is open to the general public\, and registration is available through the Nashville Community Education website. Class registration will be available on the NCE site (scroll down to “Biking Basics”) starting on Monday\, December 12th. \n  \n  \n
