DESCRIPTION:Learn at home caregiving tasks to keep your bicycle in tip top shape. Receive praise from the bike shop for keeping your bike in good order! Find out why it’s important to shift gears properly\, what inflation to use for your tires\, how (and why) to clean a chain\, and more. \nWant to keep your bike on the road and out of the shop? Come learn how just a few maintenance tasks will keep your bike going longer. \nBike Fun is hosting a Basic Bicycle Maintenance class. We will cover the basics of home bicycle maintenance\, as well as provide time to answer questions you may have about bicycle maintenance. If you have a bicycle and bring it\, we’ll also fill out your very own Bicycle Information Sheet. \nRegistration for the class is here. Suggested ticket price is sliding scale between $25-35.  \nWe will be inside working on our bicycles. \nThis course is for anyone 13 and up who wants to learn more about taking good care of a bicycle. It will cover the following topics: \n\nHow to fix a flat\nHow to properly inflate your tires\nHow to clean a chain and diagnose chain wear; and\nWhat each part of your bike is.\n\nAges 13+ – this is not a youth-specific course\, FYI. We’ll have information on bike riding\, taking care of your bike\, and more. \nIndoor shop space is limited to 3 people at a time for up to one hour. We ask for a deposit of wallet\, watch\, phone\, or keys in addition to a signed waiver. We will also have a workstand set up outside for quick fixes or inspections. \n  \nIt’s donation-based\nWe’ve got a limited number of spare parts available on a sliding scale basis. If you just need bench space to use tools\, consider making donation to either Bike Fun or Cosecha Community. \nFirst come\, first served\nBasic fix assistance includes fix-a-flat\, bolt safety checks\, and chain cleaning. If you need a bicycle or helmet\, we have limited quantities available – just let us know on the registration form! \nWhat should I bring?\nIf you have a bicycle to ride that is in safe working condition\, please bring it! SUMMARY:Basic Bicycle Maintenance - July 2024
DESCRIPTION:Learn at home caregiving tasks to keep your bicycle in tip top shape. Receive praise from the bike shop for keeping your bike in good order! Find out why it’s important to shift gears properly\, what inflation to use for your tires\, how (and why) to clean a chain\, and more. \nWant to keep your bike on the road and out of the shop? Come learn how just a few maintenance tasks will keep your bike going longer. \nBike Fun is hosting a Basic Bicycle Maintenance class. We will cover the basics of home bicycle maintenance\, as well as provide time to answer questions you may have about bicycle maintenance. If you have a bicycle and bring it\, we’ll also fill out your very own Bicycle Information Sheet. \nRegistration for the class is here. Suggested ticket price is sliding scale between $25-35.  \nWe will be inside working on our bicycles. \nThis course is for anyone 13 and up who wants to learn more about taking good care of a bicycle. It will cover the following topics: \n\nHow to fix a flat\nHow to properly inflate your tires\nHow to clean a chain and diagnose chain wear; and\nWhat each part of your bike is.\n\nAges 13+ – this is not a youth-specific course\, FYI. Bicycles can be provided for those who would like to attend but don’t have their own bicycle yet. DESCRIPTION:Get Rolling on Your Bicycle Journey\nBike Fun is lead teaching a course for EVERYBODY on learning (or relearning) how to ride a bicycle. This course is meant for brand new riders and for potential riders who are anxious about getting back on a bicycle after a long time away. Walk Bike Nashville is sponsoring the course. \nDo you know someone who hasn’t learned to ride a bike but wants to? Do you feel like you could use a refresher after a long\, long time away? Then we have something just for you! \nClass Details\nOn Sunday\, June 23rd\, 2024\, Walk Bike Nashville hosts an EVERYBODY Learn to Ride event. Get started on your bike life! \nThis course is for people who have never pedaled a bicycle before or who have been away for decades! It will cover the following topics: \n\nGetting onto the bike\nBasic balance\nStarting and stopping\nPedaling\nTurning\n\nCome learn how to ride in a safe and supportive environment. \nThis is a multigenerational\, all ages learn to ride class. We are limited to 25 students or fewer. Bicycles and helmets are provided. If you have your own bicycle\, you may bring it for us to assess for size\, functionality\, etc. \nBring water\, snack\, and wear comfortable clothing. \nThis event is OUTSIDE & WEATHER PENDING.
